Former Apple Music exec. Austin Daboh will be moving over to Atlantic Records UK (who’s parent company is Warner UK).

His new role as executive Vice President has been warmly welcomed by the new Warner Music (UK), Chairman and CEO, Tony Harlow.

Harlow has hailed Daboh as a “cultural pioneer”. This statement follows a successful jump from Spotify to Apple Music as head of editorial, for UK & Ireland.

Moreover, his career has been nothing far from impressive. Since entering the industry, his innate ability to navigate his trajectory from humbler beginnings at BBC 1Xtra, as a music programmer to higher roles in three more respectable companies has spoken volumes.

While in each of these companies he has actively pruned the countries musical landscape. Through creating major platforms and opportunities for voices and sounds that were often overlooked.

His new title will make him responsible for signing and developing domestic acts, alongside becoming a member of the WMUK leadership team. In addition he will be working closely with the US flagship, to break the boundaries between countries, ensuring his artists become global forces.

He’s already played a pivotal role in shaping the UK music landscape

Tony Harlow said: “I’m happy to welcome an exec of Austin’s calibre to the Warner Music UK family. He’s already played a pivotal role in shaping the UK music landscape through his work in radio and with the DSPs, and he has the instincts and connections not just to attract outstanding artists, but to be a cultural pioneer. I know that with Briony, Ed, Austin and the rest of the incredible team driving things forward, Atlantic UK will not only remain at the leading edge of the UK music scene but will continue to expand its global impact.
