East London artist Baba Crunch has unveiled his debut EP VOLTS (Vibes Of Life Through Sound).

Laid over 7 cohesive tracks, VOLTS showcases the breadth of Crunch’s versatility as an artist. Leading with the smooth Too Wong Foo, the opener sees Crunch move between bold rap verses and a smooth R&B hook with aplomb. Fiery F**k Up The Block is next and marks an unapologetic statement from the former Bomb Squad rapper. The nostalgic, laid-back hip-hop stylings of Bone, Drugs -N- Harmonies give way to the blissed out atmospherics of Doctors Orders. Crunch links up with old friend Hak Baker for Lucky Life, which dissects the complexities of life as a young Black man. Closing out the project is the romantic Half Stepping, an offering that highlights Crunch as ‘Rap & RnB’s Love Child’.

Speaking on the EP, Crunch commented;“Each song on VOLTS has a different vibe but they merge together in unison, whilst my identity still remains. On this EP I made the music based on how I felt in the present, leaving behind the stigmas attached to the industry which tend to box us in. It’s cliche, but music to me is my organic form of expression. I want my music to break social barriers. If I’m making music that’s true to my raw self and I’m able to express my raw emotion I believe this is the only way to be relatable and we can then discover we have a lot more in common than you assume.”
