UK artist Bonnie Freechild returns with her captivating new single, Peach, a soulful R&B slow jam you probably shouldn’t play on the radio with your parents in the car. Rich with sensual yet playful energy, the track reveals a bold new dimension of an artist already recognised as one of the UK’s most compelling emerging voices. Following acclaimed performances at the BBC Proms and recognition as a finalist for the BBC 1XTRA Performing Arts Fund, Freechild steps confidently into a more intimate space with this latest release.

Described by the artist herself as “a wink emoji,” Peach is suggestive and cheeky rather than overt. The production is intentionally stripped back, allowing the track to feel warm and close, as though the listener has stumbled into a private moment. Inspired by those electric, in-between exchanges like catching someone’s eye across a room or a conversation that lets the imagination wander, the song leans into fantasy while keeping one foot grounded in playful self-awareness.

Speaking about the single, Freechild explains:

“‘Peach’ feels vulnerable for me because it’s more sensual than I usually put in my music, but in a playful way. Cheeky, a little silly, and suggestive rather than overt.”

That balance between confidence and coyness defines the track. Even the self-portrait cover art reflects this intention. Shot straight out of the shower with no makeup, the image is natural and bare, yet charged with subtle intrigue acting a visual extension of the song’s mood.

Peach offers an enticing preview of her forthcoming debut EP, Aftertaste, due February 23rd. Written over several years, the project traces her evolution through love, loss, sensuality, and self-discovery, a distilled collection shaped by life’s in-between moments, where clarity sharpens and emotions linger long after the spark fades.
