Malix Share ‘Free In This House’ Single

I think anyone who has a sister can connect to Malix’s new single ‘Free In This House’, Because who wouldn’t want to travel the world making music with your sister?

The music video is fun, colourful, and docu-style, following an evening riding through Bangkok in a tuk-tuk and exploring a city that never really sleeps. Sometimes music videos don’t need much. The music and the artists carry everything. There’s even a soft reference to one of their favourite films, In the Mood for Love (2000).

When asked how the single came about, they describe sitting in the studio, sipping coffee. It probably started as a simple phrase, and the rest followed. They see the track as letting go and being in the moment.

South London sisters Sana and Sehrish Malik are the duo behind Malix. Raised in a social home filled with Middle Eastern and South Asian music, rhythm shaped them early. After years of DJing, deep-diving into house and global sounds during the pandemic, and forming officially in 2022, they’ve grown quickly from bedroom sets to global stages and this growth looks set to continue after this release.
