Review: Young T & Bugsey Deliver Feel-Good Mixtape ‘Truth Be Told’

The hit-making duo, Young T & Bugsey, that are behind some of the biggest tracks in the UK are back with their highly anticipated mixtape named, ‘Truth Be Told’. Hailing from the Nottingham, the pair have broken down walls and paved a lane of their own, in turn accumulating a global fan base via their viral hits, that are eager for more music. تكساس هولدم بوكر Reputable for their infectious hooks, slick bars, and feel-good melodies, the boys have delivered a wheel-up worthy project that’s fit for any given mood or season.

Spread across 15 tracks with a slew of boast-worthy appearances from M Huncho, Aitch, Jasmine May, Blxst, Chronixx, Unknown T, and Nafe Smallz, ‘Truth Be Told’ is the body of work every Young T & Bugsey supporter would want…vibes and versatility! Following the drop of pre-released singles ‘Prada Bae’, ‘Roberto’, ‘Blessings’, and ‘Big Bidness’, the pair drafted the likes of Quincy TellEm, P2J, EY, 4 Play, and Elements for the production.

Opening the mixtape with the title track ‘Truth Be Told’, we are welcomed with a thumping Young T-production that paves a way for both artists to go back-to-back, setting the tone for what’s yet to come. Underpinned with a feel-good energy, we begin to manoeuvre through the summer-infused sounds of ‘Oh Lordy’ with M Huncho before stumbling across stand-out track ‘Caliente’ alongside fellow hit-maker Aitch. Produced by reputable musical genius P2J, ‘Caliente’ is a percussive slice of heaven that’s reminiscent of pool party’s and hazy nights out with your friends. Following on from the 2020 release of their debut project, ‘Plead The 5th’, ‘Truth Be Told’ feels like an extension of their effective formula. Continuing to solidify their versatility through an array of beats, one of which a trap-infused joint by no other than Quincy Tell Em, on ‘Hall of Fame’, to the hip-moving track ‘Tense’; one feature that fans have been eagerly waiting for is ‘Nice’ with US breakthrough artist Blxst. ويليام هيل Let’s be honest it was never going to be a disappointment, musically they would fuse seamlessly, right? Paired with a set of tropical-esc visuals, ‘Nice’ is a mellow number fit for any occasion. Shortly followed by an appearance from Unknown T on ‘Roberto C’, the boys begin to close out the project with ‘Celly’ alongside rising songstress Jasmine May and pre-released bop ‘Prada Bae’ with assistance from Nafe Smallz.
