John Boyega Wins Rising Star Award At BAFTAS

John Boyega, the boy from Peckham who took Hollywood by storm was presented with the prestigious ‘Rising Star’ award at last nights British Academy of Film and Television Awards. His performance in his biggest film Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens has been described as ‘refreshing’ and ‘flawless’.

Boyega joins previous recipients which include the likes of Noel Clarke, Kristen Stewart and Tom Hardy. The 23-year-old beat tough competition in Dakota Johnson, Taron Egerton and others to win the public-voted award presented by last years winner Jack O’Connell.

After receiving the award Boyega described his win as a ‘fluke’ and said;

”I’m going to share this award with all the young dreamers who are hard-working. This is for you”
