Now what made me start was when I purchased my first Roll Deep CD”…  DUBZ D is a very versatile rapper from East London, who started rapping at the age of 13, Dubz D is now 21 and his love for music is still profound.

DUBZ DS VOICE

This interview with Dubz D has given me a greater insight on what Dubz is bringing to the industry; I dont want to sound cliche about this but im bringing myself, a genuine person who believes there are no limits to what I can do in terms of creating music. Being and feeling limitless is a quality that all artist should aspire to gain. I think this because people who create beyond their expectations enable greater qualities and larger opportunities.

On a regul ar basis Dubz D tends to listen to a lot of UK music. Names such as Dizzee Rascal, Skepta and Banks were mentioned during our interview. Listening to artist like these have given Dubz a sound for Grime music. I asked Dubz D what genre he would place his music in. Honestly, I cant say, I believe im very versatile. Ill make a grime tune today and tomorrow Ill be thinking about singing on a track. People do tend to put me into the grime genre a lot though, seeing as Ive always been doing grime and I probably wont ever stop making it either.

I learnt that Dubz D describes himself as divergent and someone who is not afraid of taking any risk. I appreciate artist like Dubz D who is brave and musically flexible.

A SON WHO IS INSPIRED

I believe in being inspired. Inspiration is important in any situation but I strongly believe that inspiration is the root through, throughout and within music.

I asked Dubz D what inspires him as a person and musically. For me, one of my biggest inspirations is my mum. Dubz D explained to me hat he has seen his mother go through huge tussles and that she has always supported him in reference to him and his music.

In 2012 an article was posted on the Telegram.com about why a mother and sons relationship is important. Contained in the article it quotes Moms who keep their sons close are setting them up for success later in life, both in personal relationships and at work. Dubz D and his mothers relationship is creating a star in the making.

THE SUAVE SOCIETY

Dubz D is a member of the Suave Society alongside Grafter, Loopz, Kieron Boothe, Karrizmah, Devs and Ghosty. I wanted to know what qualities does Dubz hold as an individual in the Suave Society, he said Large up my Suave brothers. What I bring to the collective is the grime aspect of music, and not only that but I also bring my music tech knowledge, when working on projects in the team I mix down a few tunes. Multi-talented Dubz D is able to bring more then lyrics and voice to the table and I definitely like this about him.

LATE NIGHTS IN GRANGE

Late Nights In Grangeis Dubz Ds coming EP. Of course I was keen to know more about the EP, I asked if there are any features, how my tracks and what can everyone expect from the EP itself. Late Nights In Grange is going to be sick. People can expect to hear some calm vibes, with some trippy elements to it. I dont know how many tracts are going to be on there as Im always making changing to the track list. Feature wise youll have some of the Suave Society on there and some local musicians I work with which youll come across soon.

I am a fan of Dubz Ds music from listening to tracks such as Dont Worryand If You Need Me, it is clear that Dubz creates music from very honest experiences. If Your Need Me was all about a past relationship I had, I never thought people would feel it though but in the end a few people enjoyed it and personally its one of my favourite tunes Ive made, I made that song from the ground up.

I hope to hear more authentic tracks on Late Nights In Grange.

WHEN DID YOU FALL IN LOVE WITH MUSIC?

IMG_6358I fell in love with music at a very young age, probably around the age of 4 or 5. Back in the day when my mum would be playing bangers at home every Saturday, her vinyl collection is nuts believe me
