It has been announced that Man Utd’s Marcus Rashford has joined forces with no other than Jay-Z, signing a huge deal with Roc Nation’s Sports agency.
Announcing the deal with Rashford, which has been kept under wraps since April of 2019 – In a statement, Roc Nation commented; “We can confirm that Roc Nation has represented Marcus Rashford since April 2020. The representation is strictly off-field, encompassing philanthropy, PR and marketing, communications, digital strategy and commercial partnerships. DNMaysportsmgt continue to represent Marcus Rashford for all on-field activity”.
Marcus Rashford recently made the headlines with his campaign to reverse the Government’s decision in stopping free school meals for vulnerable children across the U.K over the summer holidays. The campaign proved to be successful and ultimately convinced Boris Johnson otherwise.
Roc Nation Sports’ Director of Brand Strategy and Business Communications, Kelly Hogarth stated; “We look for those figures who stand for something beyond just the sport that they play. What he did transcended race, transcended any social unrest that we’re experiencing. This was a 22-year-old young man who was saying: ‘No child should be going hungry in this country. That is unacceptable.’ Even if you were the meanest person in the world, it was an argument you just couldn’t fight against. He was able to resonate with so many people by just being himself”.
This deal follows alongside other big-name players who are also under the agency including Romelu Lukaku, Kevin de Bruyne and more.
