One of the biggest events of the year Comic Con took place over the weekend. From Thursday to Sunday, over 100,000 people flocked to San Diego to attend the event.
This year’s comic con had so many huge reveals, with Marvel and DC all having huge releases coming this year and next year. Here are some of our highlights from Marvel TV Shows.
Firstly, it was announced that Netflix would be back on Netflix for a third season. The hugely successful Netflix season will see the return of Charlie Cox as Daredevil fighting a new nemesis. Although, not much information has been shared about the upcoming series, many are hoping for the return of Elodie Yung as Elektra. It was also announced that the Punisher would have his own Netflix show, following Jon Bernthal’s incredible portrayal of Frank Castle in the second season of Daredevil.
New Netflix shows, Iron Fist, Defenders are Luke Cage all got brand new trailers at SDCC. Jessica Jones fans were introduced to Luke Cage as a minor character, and it looks like the show will be following in the same tone. Iron Fist follows Danny Rand, a young plane crash survivor taking in by monks and trained in martial arts. The show has received quite a bit of buzz, especially after the casing of Game of Thrones actor Finn Jones (Ser Loras Tyrell) as Danny. Last but not least on Netflix is Defenders, combining the power of Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist.
Leaving Netflix, and heading over to FX, we have another new marvel TV show, Legion. The show takes place in the X Men universe and is being co-produced by Brian Singer and Simon Kinberg, who both play key roles in the X Men movie franchise. The show stars Downton Abbey actor Dan Stevens as David Haller, a diagnosed schizophrenic.
Last but not least is Marvel’s Agents of Shield. AoS fans will be glad to know that a teaser trailer for the fourth season was shared, and it was revealed that Gabriel Luna will be joining the cast as Robbie Reyes aka Ghost Rider.
