Beyond stocking all of your grocery needs, Tesco just announced that it will start selling vinyls for the first time in its history. After a trial run with Iron Maiden’s vinyl became a sell-out success earlier this year, the supermarket giant is now stocking a limited range that includes new vinyl LPs such as Coldplay’s A Head Full Of Dreams, George Ezra’s Wanted On Voyage and David Gilmour’s Rattle That Lock, as well as seminal albums like Bob Marley’s Greatest Hits, Prince’s Purple Rain, The Beatles’ Sgt Pepper and The Rolling Stones’ Sticky Fingers.

After losing out to CDs, downloads and live streaming, vinyl is now enjoying a boom. According to Billboard, vinyl sales in the United Kingdom last year cracked the 1 million mark for the first time since the mid-nineties. Such is the revival that an official vinyl chart launched earlier this year. HMV also announced that they would re-introduce vinyl into stores earlier this year.
