Obongjayar Drops Brand New Single “God’s Own Children”

Obongjayar has released the audio to his latest single God’s Own Children.

Having announced his forthcoming EP Which Way Is Forward? at the end of last year dropping on February 7th. Nigerian-born, London-based artist Obongjayar begins the decade with a new song God’s Own Children setting the tone for what’s to come.

Speaking on the single, Obongjayar stated “God’s Own Children is inspired by protests from around the world and the resilience of my generation. It’s a reminder that we’re all in this together and that this world we inhabit right now is what we’re inheriting from the generation passed. If it all goes down it affects all of us and in-turn affects the ones that come after us. There’s a realization of that and an active resistance to the suppression and oppression that’s happening to us. This song was also inspired by the dance moves coming out of Nigeria which in itself and of its character feels like a form of protest.”
