Ohema X’s first single “Freedom” is the sound the world and its citizens crave amidst the current chaos of 2016. An ethereal and soulful projection of values at a troubled time is paired with the talents of a mainstay in London’s rap scene over the past 13 years, Big Narstie. The pair melodically drive the beat produced by LDP; who flaunts his unmeasurable prowess with the effortless blend of piano keys and snare drum. Staying loyal to her Ghanaian roots, Ohema X speaks for all young black women through her lyrics whilst expressing the need for freedom for everyone. The song title and theme epitomises the overall message and objectives of the single, freedom for all, freedom from racism but also freedom from from ourselves sometimes mentally or physically. “Freedom” will not only be Ohema X’s breakthrough single, but will also offer a fresh, relevant and necessary escape for all listeners, setting the tone for her achievements to come. The single is set to be released on the 14th October 2016 in conjunction with the debut of the music video and her long awaited EP, self titled Ohema X.
