RU Listening, the artist management company, has established itself as a record company by signing some exciting new artists and recruiting some experienced industry professionals ready for some hot new releases.

The combination of experience and talent at the disposal of RU Listening now makes it an independent label ready to make an impact.

One of the newest signings Josh Daniel, after doing extremely well on The X Factor bringing Simon Cowell to tears, has spent the last year camped out writing some new music ready to release this summer.

Another RU listening signing, Grime star Scorcher, who stars in a lead role in new urban film ‘The Intent’, which is released on 29 July, is ready to begin promotion towards his hotly-anticipated, as yet untitled, new album. His latest single, ‘Timbo Flow’, a collaboration with Rocket, was a recent ‘Record of the Week’ on BBC Radio 1Xtra.

Driving the ambitious independent company is entrepreneur Richard Upshall who has brought on board to two well-known industry professionals, Munro Craig and Matthew Haynes, who both possess management experience at major record labels, including Sony and Universal.

Richard Upshall, owner of RU Listening said: “The signings of Josh Daniel and Scorcher to the RU Listening label is a signal of our intention to become a serious player in the independent music market.

“The addition of Munro and Matthew and their extensive industry experience will also support the label’s growth as we are keen to attract even more artists and build a strong stable of leading edge talent.”

Scorcher added: “I am delighted to be signing with RU Listening and to be a part of its promising future. I have many exciting projects coming up and am now focused on repaying the faith that RU Listening and Richard are showing in me by continuing to make great music and delivering strong performances onscreen.”
