UK x US: OUR TOP FIVE!

Within the past year or so we’ve witnessed some of our favourite US and UK artists collaborate, providing bangers that are the best of both. I’m pretty sure we’ve all asked ourselves this question: “What are some of the coldest UK x US collabs we’ve heard?”

The topic recently resurfaced on Twitter and here’s what we think!

5. “How It Is” Roddy Ricch ft Chip, Yxng Bane

The UK’s definitely got a lot of love for Roddy Ricch. Chip and Yxng Bane approached their verses differently to each other but still did this track a lot of justice and complimented Roddy’s sound well. A big collab for us!

4. “Broken Homes” Nafe Smallz ft M Huncho, Gunna

We were all excited to hear that the rappers had a tune with one of our US favourites. Nafe Smallz and M Huncho did us proud and rode this wavy beat. Even before Gunna’s verse, this was already a certified banger!

3. “Secrets” Yung Fume ft Lil Durk

Throughout the song, the two rappers bounced off of each other and created a great fusion of melodies. The sound is elite. Yung Fume definitely represented the UK well!

2. “Praise The Lord” Skepta ft ASAP Rocky

The catchy hook “I came, I saw” had us all bopping our heads last summer. Skepta kept his sound authentic and true to where he’s from – which isn’t always the case for all UK x US collabs. It’s the best of both worlds and the visuals cater to both audiences perfectly.

1. “KMT” Giggs ft Drake

Yes, we’re aware that Drake is a Canadian rapper but in truth, he’s taken over America and everywhere else so – yes – this still counts. This had to undoubtedly be #1. You can’t look back and not remember the crazy impact it had. Every festival and show KMT played at totally exploded when it came to the Landlord’s verse!

So that was our shortlist for the moment, however, there are still a lot of upcoming collaborations you can look forwards to! Stormzy was pictured in the studio with R&B singer, H.E.R, not too long ago. Ray BLK also hinted at a collaboration with the Kelly Rowland as they were also seen together in a studio.
