SVMI returns with a video for his new track “Old Friends”, tapping production from Litek and co-direction and editing from Archie Erskine.

Following on from his March release with “He Say She Say”, SVMI has speaks more about his critics. This track stood out for it’s witty honesty and self-indulgent dive into the pits of giving no… well it rhymes with bucks and it starts with an F.

During he speaks to a love interest and his “old friends” – who he’s not too fond of might I add. There’s a stark contrast between the much-loved wavy, uplifting soundtrack the 0161 rapper lays his verses on and their truthful and at time’s savage contents.

The video finds SVMI performing the track amongst his current friends. Each cut adorned by glitchy transitions, a grayscale filter; while the rapper remains in colour – to highlight the purple tracksuit he dons. All thanks to the filming, direction and editing from Archie Erskine and others, in addition to the artistic input from the rapper himself.

“This song talks about how I had to lose some people along the way for my own sake, which helped me to better myself. Really and truly, it is always for the best. Also, I’m still bringing that happy and bouncy vibe to show I really don’t give a f*ck no more.” SVMI told MM in a recent interview.
