Detty Rave, Africa’s leading dance music festival, returned to Untamed Empire in Accra on Saturday, December 27th, delivering its boldest and most immersive edition to date. Created and curated by African music superstar Mr Eazi, the seventh edition welcomed tens of thousands of attendees once again this year, reaffirming its status as a cornerstone moment of Ghana’s globally celebrated Detty December season.
Known for its DJ-led programming, immersive stage design, and electric atmosphere, Detty Rave 2025 brought together a cross-continental lineup reflecting both the depth and future of African dance music. The night featured high-energy sets from Spinall (Nigeria), Chichi DJ (Ghana), Ciza (South Africa), DJ YK (Nigeria), Priyanka (US/Sri Lanka), Ginger Boy (France), DJ Aroma (Ghana), and Choplife Soundsystem – Mr Eazi’s dance music project with UK-based African music ambassador DJ Edu. The event also included surprise performances from London’s own J Hus, alongside Nigerian Afrobeats superstars Davido, King Promise, Wande Coal, and Shallipopi.
“We are not returning. We are evolving,” said Mr Eazi. “Raise the Heat was a frequency shift – the true heart of December nightlife. Accra hosted the most authentic African dance music eruption you could feel, not just hear.”
