After waiting impatiently since the last Wireless happened, the first phase line up for the 2017 Wireless has been announced. The event of the summer will take place once again in the heart of North London, Finsbury Park. Headlining over Friday, Saturday and Sunday is recent Grammy winner Chance The Rapper, Mercury Prize winner Skepta and Grammy winner The Weeknd respectively. Bryson Tiller and rap legend Nas have also been billed as UK Festival exclusives.
Other US acts which have been announced include the global-takeover duo Rae Sremmurd, red-haired Lil Yatchy, the one and only Slime Young Thug – which are all UK Festival Exclusives – as well as the extremely eccentric Lil Uzi Vert.
Last year, the festival was met to some backlash over Twitter that there was not enough UK based artists. Wireless took that criticism and really applied it this year as we have our very own Abra Cadabra, Big Tobz, Cadet, Mostack, Section Boyz, Wiley, AJ & Deno, Stefflon Don, Dave (read my article about him here ) and much more performing across the long weekend.
But of course there is no pleasing Twitter as many have complained that the chart-topping trio Migos were not announced as well as Travis Scott but with that being said, there are still two special guest acts along with more acts to be announced so who knows what tricks Wireless could pull?
The event will take place from the 7th– 9th of July 2017 and tickets are now available from Ticketmaster : www.ticketmaster.co.uk/wireless
