5 Things You Need To Know About Central Cee!
11 Feb 2021
Sitting at the very forefront of British Rap is the rising hit-maker Central Cee! Following on from what’s been a successful few years from the ascending hit-maker with tracks like “Molly”, “Loading”, “Day In The Life” and more recently with “Pinging (6 Figures)”, his dexterous flow, straight-talking approach and laid-back cadence has caught the eyes of many.
As we gear up for the release of his highly anticipated mixtape dropping later this year entitled ‘Wild West’, we have compiled a list of 5 things about Central Cee – with the help of him, of course – that you need to know! Tap in below to see what they are.
1. He’s loved music from a young age!
Central Cee has been experimenting and playing around with music since he was a young boy. However, the hit-maker has referred to his father as his primary inspiration that had originally sparked his love to start music. It wasn’t until he turned the youthful age of 14 when he started recording his music and putting it out into the world.
2. Timing is key!
Central Cee is all about timing! If you look back on his ‘Mad About Bars’ freestyle, this is the perfect example as to why – it not only showed his progression and journey to the top but for him, it’s a lesson in patience and biding your time because as he says: “What’s yours will come to you eventually”.
3. His maturity stands beyond his years…
He may only be 22 but he moves with the vision and presence of someone much older, Central Cee doesn’t want his music to be a short-term vision, he’s always thinking long-term – it’s clear that he wants to create a legacy for himself! In fact, cementing himself as a rapper is important to him before he goes out and explores other sub-genres.
4. Cench is from West London!
Central Cee grew up in and around Shepherds Bush, West London and has never missed a Notting Hill carnival – I mean who can blame him?! – that environment has played an integral role in his musical upbringing, background and style today.
5. He’s mysterious! *inserts eyes emoji*
He’s a mysterious guy – Central Cee, known as Cench to his friends, spends a lot of time on his own and this is reflected in his introspective lyrics – there’s not much on him online which means he wants the music to do the talking.
