Chart update: KSI takes it all with the #1 spot!
23 Jul 2021
This week we are back with yet another analysis of the UK official charts… So while we wait for Dave’s latest album to marinate, lets get the album charts out of the way. Love him or hate, holding it down for the UK is the Youtuber-turned-rapper, KSI, who enters the top of the board with his latest project entitled “All Over The Place.”
As for singles, Dave’s lead track “Clash” – which features the one and only Stormzy – falls from fourth place to number eight. Seven weeks after the release of his debut offering “Oliver Twist,” Arrdee creeps slowly away from the comfort of his initial top ten spot. Travelling further down, KSI’s collaboration with US legend, Lil Durk – “No Time” enters its first week with the respectable position of 34; right next to 2020’s star boy, Central Cee who dropped “A Little Bit Of This” last week.
It’s also worth mentioning that French The Kid’s “Can’t Feel My Face” and Mostack’s “Ride” joined the board at number 137 and 138. To conclude, UK rap had a great amount of new releases find their home in this weeks chart. Which signifies the genres growing popularity not only in regard to pop culture but in its ability to generate sales in a physical sense. This is particularly important for us since the genre is notorious for having the lowest percentage for yielding capital in this area.
Be sure to stay tuned for more updates next week!
