AJ Tracey, Digga D, Chip and Fredo are some of the culture’s favourite names who we have championed just as the year begins. Well, it’s that time again!

The headliner?

Northampton-hailing rapper, Slowthai, rose to prominence in 2019 after introducing audiences to his unorthodox and raw approach to music with bold releases such as, “Nothing Great About Britain”. The rapper is widely recognised for his statement style of artistry, but the bigger headline – at least for this week – is that his self-titled album, ‘Tyron’, has debuted at #1! The sophomore project, described as introspective and personal, includes appearances from A$AP Rocky, James Blake and Denzel Curry.

Fredo’s album saw an impressive first week and still occupies a spot in the top 40’s list, with ‘Money Can’t Buy Happiness’ sitting at #15 on the UK’s official albums chart.

What else is new?

Slowthai, real name Tyron Frampton, earns his first top 40 single with “Cancelled” featuring BBK’s Skepta. Heightened by the ‘Scary Movie’-inspired visuals, the unapologetic anthem has landed at #39 on the UK’s official singles chart.

Also celebrating an entry into the chart table this week, is Headie One and Burna Boy for their melodious collaboration, Siberia, taken from the rapper’s deluxe album. Coming in at #35, this means a tenth top 40 hit single for the OFB star and the African giant’s fifth!
