LeoStayTrill Releases Debut EP ‘Home Alone’
27 May 2025
South London’s LeoStayTrill steps confidently into the spotlight with his debut EP Home Alone, released on May 23, 2025. At just 18, the singer and rapper has already collected co-signs from renowned UK heavyweights Dave and Ed Sheeran, growing streaming numbers, and a dedicated global pool of listeners worldwide. Born in London to Zimbabwean parents, LeoStayTrill began performing in front of crowds while still in primary school. Home Alone proves he’s not just a product of an amassing fan base — he’s a serious, versatile talent with a story to tell.
The EP’s title isn’t only memorable, but relates directly to Leo’s own experience. As Leo explains, “The title Home Alone really captures the spirit of how this project came together… I was consistently isolating myself from the world to focus on my craft.” The solitude found in his own room became a creative playing field for Leo — where self-reliance, discipline, and transformation grew in and around his developing sound.
The result is a seven-track offering that blends Afrobeat grooves, UK rap energy, R&B smoothness, and a clear sense of artistic direction.
“Karate” opens the EP and sets the tone: a hard-hitting, bar-heavy cut where Leo flexes clever lyricism and cultural references. Lines like “We really have nights like this but it’s not like Kehlani” and “Show her wild side not like Normani or Cardi” reflect his playful confidence, and his familiarity with his place in the hip-hop space while remaining unafraid to carve his own lane.
“On Me,” produced by Einer Banks, Synco, Scotty Bay, and Vitals, stands out as a melodic Afrobeat-leaning track. Taking a more melodic approach here, marrying sharp lyricism with infectious hooks. It’s a testament to his range — proof he’s as comfortable delivering hooks as he is barring up.
‘Ade’s Interlude’ is an introspective moment, where we hear a voice of reassurance. ‘Once you’re in, you’re in,’ the voice on the track says.
‘If this dream doesn’t come true, your Mum and Dad were right ,’ An experience immigrant children know all too well, ‘Ade’s Interlude’ adds a sense of urgency to the project, which carries through to the remainder of the EP.
Going into ‘Naturally Me’, we’re aware that LeoStayTrill has no choice but to succeed. With the weight of expectation weighing on his shoulders, ‘Naturally Me’ feels like a response to ambition, mixed with the reality of the pressure that sometimes fuels our dreams.
‘Hands On Knees’ furthers the urgency that LeoStayTrill handles his craft with. . Joined by K-RTrap, the first feature of this EP, the pair embrace the urgency that comes with hard hitting storytelling.
‘Hands on Knees’, featuring K-Trap, emphasises grit, hunger, and intentionality, all underlying themes of the project. The former reflects on identity and the weight of expectations, while the latter is a street-certified anthem that doesn’t sacrifice depth for swagger. The urgency here isn’t a performative force, but a genuine outpour into art with the desire to succeed.
On “2s and 3s,” Leo samples the iconic “Rather Be” by Jess Glynne and Clean Bandit — and doesn’t miss. Co-produced by Clean Bandit and Jake Gosling, the track sonically bridges the gap Leo’s UK roots and his global aspirations. Experimental but grounded, the penultimate track continues to tell the story
The project closes with ‘Love Again’ , a melodically stacked track where Leo sings of the caution that accompanies opening up to love again ‘Don’t make me fall in love again,’ . Vocally rich, Leo’s storytelling skills shine through, still embracing the edge that he arrived on the scene with. A suitable ending for an EP that’s both confident and introspective.
From sold-out headline shows to MOBO nominations, and a Home Alone tour that’s already sold out in Manchester, Birmingham, and London, LeoStayTrill is steadily making moves on his journey of artistry. Home Alone, grounded in experience, Leo’s youth shines through, the eighteen year old displaying his life experiences thus far. With over 100 million streams, viral moments, and support slots for artists like Asake at the O2, Leo will no doubt continue to gain momentum and thrive as an upcoming artist.
