Having recently opened for Joy Crookes at the BRITs War Child event, was hand-picked by Rachel Chinouriri during her BBC Radio 1 takeover show, and is currently on a European tour with Jacob Banks, South London’s Amie Blu has returned with stunning new single ‘swimming in pity’.

‘swimming in pity’ is Amie Blu’s first new material to follow 2024’s acclaimed how we lose mixtape, which included the viral ‘everything about her’ and was launched alongside a sold-out headline date at London’s Omeara.

‘swimming in pity’ is an alternative anthem, written from an anxious state – its intimate acoustics and soaring, yacht-rock sound contrasting with Amie’s strikingly honest lyrics, and stop-you-in-your-tracks voice.

A song that could be addressed to a friend, a partner, or to yourself, Amie herself comments that “I sometimes find a lot of comfort in my own sadness, and find it easier to wallow in my depression. As hard as it is to pull yourself out from that kind of place, it can also be really easy to just sit with it. ‘swimming in pity’ is me acknowledging this feeling of my own self-sabotage when it comes to my mental health.”
