Brixton Soup Kitchen, founded by both Solomon Smith and Mahamed Hashi, is a free service that provides hot meals and drinks as well as warm clothes for those who are in need. Although they are primarily based in and around Brixton, the charity covers a wide range of area’s in London and are known for providing education, training, counselling, massage therapy as well as guidance for people who are looking to get back into work,

Covid has put a strain on many people this year, and due to the Covid guidelines, Brixton Soup Kitchen had to switch up there dynamics ever so slightly! Instead of running their services inside, they have been carrying out there work outside and have decided to help families who are struggling for food by organising a food bank, as well as providing hand sanitizers and face masks for the elderly, sleeping bags for the homeless and food packs – amazing right?!

Throughout this uncertain period, Brixton Soup Kitchen have been providing food packs for up to 60-80 families every day, with the help of their volunteers and all-round good spirit they are currently seeking for donations to help carry out this well needed and amazing charity after the Christmas run.
