Birmingham based Afropop rising star Dkizz has released his latest single, ‘My Lady’, via Be83 records and accopanied by a music video directed by Chidi Azikiwe. The new track is held together by the artist’s smooth delivery amidst a percussion heavy instrumental.

Fresh off the back of finding success from his breakout song, ‘Show Me’, this new track will be the lead single from his upcoming EP, ‘Sabi Boy’. ‘Show Me’ has gone viral on TikTok and has already amassed over 5 million plays on the platform.

Speaking on the track, the artist said:

“I wrote ‘My Lady’ last summer, after I had just come out of a ‘situationship’ with someone that was pretending to be the best person I could have ever met. It was a hell of a ride, and we didn’t quite work out, but it showed me what I really want in a relationship, and that’s what birthed ‘My Lady’. Godfather Beats and I went back and forth trying to find the proper sounds to bring out the emotions I was feeling at the time, as I wanted to write a soulful song that could be also played in the club. I’m just so happy that people are dancing to the song all over TikTok, even though it was inspired by one of my worst relationship experiences”.

Dkizz will be hoping that this new offering lives up to the heights that he has previously set for himself. Coming from Port Harcourt but now based in Birmingham, the artist will look to achieve international stardom for the remainder of 2023 and beyond.
