Essosa releases highly anticipated ‘Crush!’ EP
1 May 2026
Ascending London singer and songwriter Essosa, best known for her viral hit ‘Waste My Time’ has today unveiled her highly anticipated six-track EP, ‘Crush!’.
Holding multiple meanings; ‘Crush!’ is a refreshingly sweet sounding record, but there is depth and duality to everything Essosa does. Leaning into glossy, feel-good sonics and playful lyricism, and blending flirtation, rhythm and nostalgia, ‘Crush!’ captures the fleeting moments of connection and carefree fun that often define nights out, but there is a realness and honesty at play here too.
This project sees Essosa closing in on a chapter of her life that featured a volatile relationship and uncertainty, but now she enters a new era of creativity, love and self-assurance.

“In the original demo for crush!, the definition of the word was played in the beginning. The word ‘Crush’ is often referred to in pop culture as an infatuation for something or someone. However it also means destruction and ruin. The juxtaposition of these 2 separate definitions really slapped me in the face at the end of last year. I immediately knew that would be the name of the track and the project because everyone knows what a crush is, and everyone has had a crush. But the word is also onomatopoeic, so both sides of the definition are conveyed through the title.” – Essosa speaking on ‘Crush!’
Essosa is set to take on her biggest year so far, including her biggest headline show at London’s iconic Jazz Cafe on September 14th.
