Teaming up with Motown Records UK, Femi Oyeniran and Nicky “Slimting” Walker, both well-known Britsh actors, directors and Grime pioneers, have today announced their forthcoming Grime movie titled, ‘Against All Odds’.

Alongside the news of a movie on the way, the movie will be accompanied with an EP soundtrack that will feature a slew of boast-worthy names including D Double E, Sir Spyro Jammer and Flowdan. To top if all off, the EP will also include a remix of Maxwell D’s track “Serious” featuring Capo Lee, Bonkaz, Novelist, So Large, Bruza and Tempa.

Putting one of British Rap’s most defining genres on a pedestal, the aim of the film is to journey back through time, encompassing that nostalgic sound that paved the lane for many today; the film will also include cameos from some of Grime’s biggest names.

Speaking on the film, Femi Oyeniran and Nicky “Slimting” Walker commented; “AGAINST ALL ODDS is our visual homage to one of the most potent expressions of Black British music, Grime. To get the opportunity to create the musical accompaniment to the first ever Grime movie, with a team led by Rob Pascoe and Afryea Henry-Fontaine has been a pleasure. They have supported us every step of the way. The music and the film are a celebration of Black British Heritage; there is no better home for that, than the legendary Motown.”

Rob Pascoe, the MD at Motown Records UK said; “I’ve always been a huge fan of Femi and Nicky’s work.We finally connected and within 10 minutes of our meeting I knew we needed to collaborate. Our mutual love for 90’s black motion picture with all important accompanying soundtrack gave birth to the idea of ‘Against All Odds’ having a proper, dedicated soundtrack to take you on the same nostalgic journey the film does so effectively. The moons just aligned with the launch of Motown Records UK and this incredible project. The campaign is a real labour of love and we hope everyone enjoys it as much as we do”

Both the movie and soundtrack EP will be released on the 13th November 2020 by Motown Records UK. You can watch the trailer below.
