Following hot on the heels of comeback single ‘Mantra No. 9’, Fliptrix joins forces with long-time collaborator King Kashmere on ‘Primordial Soup’, out 7th October on High Focus Records. With fellow High Focus artist Pitch 92 offering up a rich tapestry on production, ‘Primordial Soup’ is a perfect next-assail-point in the trajectory from ‘Mantra No. 9’ and beyond. Fliptrix and Kashmere offer up a dynamism rooted in their many years of friendship, but firmly situated in the here-and-now.

With the mysteries of former stomping ground Crystal Palace park taking centre stage in the official video, and with both rappers going toe-to-toe in their respective quests to unpack the universe, ‘Primordial Soup’ will stand long in the memory across the UK scene and beyond. Having rubbed shoulders since the mid-noughties (Kash and Verb T used to take a young Fliptrix on tour and have him perform a few tracks each night), and with it being a cool six years since the duo last collaborated (2016’s ‘Smoke Lingers Always’), it is a welcome return.

Fliptrix has been rhyming since he was a kid, performing ever since the doormen would let him into Speakers Corner, and his impact on the UK scene is as significant as his songs are adventurous and eye-opening. The London-born lyricist plies his trade as a solo artist, as well as being one-quarter of acclaimed outfit The Four Owls and managing director of High Focus Records.
