French The Kid Unveils First Track Of The Year ‘Single Player’ Alongside Announcement of Upcoming Mixtape ‘No Signal’

French The Kid’s rise to the top of the UK music industry is impossible to ignore – the bilingual rapper possesses a vast discography filled with hits. This week, the rapper has come through to offload brand new single entitled ‘Single Player’ – his first release of the year. ‘

‘Single Player’ serves as a thrilling statement of intent and 2023 is set to be another year of exponential growth and artistic refinement for the talent. Alongside the release, French has additionally unveiled the title of his re-defining mixtape ‘NO SIGNAL’, set for release this spring. 
 

“‘Single Player’ is steeped in evocative chords and skittering 808 drum patterns which provide the backbone to French’s melodic flows and honeyed chorus-line. Atmospheric and hued with sombre tones, the newest track sees French contemplate feelings of loneliness and the importance of close friendship-ties through his layered and harmonic lyricism.” The latest track boasts production credits from long-time collaborator Lovelife, and Ben Stancombe. The single additionally comes equipped with an icy, monochromatic visual directed by Charlie Rees. 

Speaking on the release, French says “I’ve loved this record from the moment we recorded it. The jersey beats, the tempo. Feels really fresh. It’s a sound I’ve always wanted to experiment with. Single Player is definitely an important track for me when thinking about how my sound has grown”
