Hope Drops Debut EP ‘Been Up Since Yesterday’
30 Sep 2024
Hope (AKA Hope Ikpoku Jnr.) has come through with a surprise debut EP, ‘Been Up Since Yesterday’. Across three tracks the East London artist demonstrates his electric talent as a spirited lyricist with an ear for eye catching production.
Probably best known for his role in Aaron in Top Boy, this project proves that Hope has multiple strings to his bow. He recently performed alongside Kano and Bashy at an Adidas event in London and has already made an impact in the UK scene thanks to singles ‘Stop The Rain’ and ‘Leaving A Dent’.
Speaking on his new release, the artist states:
“It’s important to introduce myself through a body of work, one that demonstrates my sound well and gives a window into what I have to offer for the future. To drop this independently – no label, no budget, no help – just me and my friends producing music and dropping on my birthday, this drop is special to me so I hope people give it the time of day and see I’m here to stay.
Been Up Since Yesterday is one of my favourite mottos – if me or my guys say we are busy, that’s exactly what we mean. We’re forever working, forever active, forever thinking of what’s next”
