IDK Announces His New Mixtape E.T.D.S: Even The Devil Smiles
4 Dec 2025
Rapper, singer, producer, and cultural architect IDK has announced the release of his new mixtape E.T.D.S: Even The Devil Smiles, arriving January 23rd.
To mark the announcement, he’s dropped a new single “SCARY MERRi”, produced by Conductor Williams (Drake, J. Cole, Tyler, the Creator).
With production from Madlib, Kaytranada, No I.D., Goldie, Joey Valence & Brae and others, E.T.D.S draws from the urgency of 90s/2000s mixtape culture, Black expressionism, and IDK’s own history with the U.S. criminal system. It ties to the year he would have been released had he served the full fifteen-year sentence handed down at age 17. Having served three of those years, the project explores incarceration, second chances, and how close he came to being lost in the penal system.
“SCARY MERRi” follows the landmark release of “S.T.F”, his collaboration with Kaytranada and the late DMX. It’s the first posthumous DMX collaboration to be co-signed by Desiree Lindstrom and Sasha Simmons, co-administrators of the Estate of Earl “DMX” Simmons. The track stands as IDK’s tribute to a long-time creative ally – DMX appeared on his breakthrough projects Is He Real and USee4Yourself.
