Tapping into an oasis of transcendent sounds to create a beautiful project, London’s Kwaku Asante is gracing listeners with the release of his angelic sophomore EP, ODE.

Speaking on ODE, Asante commented, I wrote this EP talking about the current stage I am at in my life, being a young black man from a religious household trying to navigate a very treacherous and turbulent industry. This is a new terrain and space that I’m operating in, I do not want to unravel for the sake of my health and the people closest to me.”

Earlier this year, the artist dropped Angel which is defined by an acoustic production and draws in inspiration from the singer’s gospel roots, as well as Illusions which takes on a similar approach, and meshes in slow-jam elements to intensify the R&B feel of the EP.

Seeing as ODE relates to the artist’s journey through obtaining a better understanding of himself, the intimate nature of this running theme is one that listeners will find resonation with, upon listening.
