A collaboration that is sure to surprise listeners, Lime Cordiale and Idris Elba have revealed their rambunctious new single, What’s Not To Like. Loaded with boisterous riffs and rollicking drums, the track is a grittier follow up from Cordiale’s jaunty debut single Apple Crumble.

The surprise pairing seems almost destined considering the Luther star had already been in the Cordiale’s orbit. Regularly blasting Idris’ 2019 hit Boasty backstage before each show, the duo first linked up with the actor in 2020 after asking him to guest on a new version of their song Unnecessary Things. The partnership hit a creative streak and soon enough more songs were added to the roster with Lime Cordiale’s longtime producer/co-writer David K Haddad.

“We wrote everything together,” Oli explains. “We were all writing lyrics, it wasn’t our music or his music, it was smack bang down the middle with every lyric.”

“I wanted to collaborate,” Idris adds. “We agreed about the vibe and the song was there. They were really open to ideas, it was an opportunity for me to write songs I normally wouldn’t write. Ultimately, this is a step into a new universe musically for me.”

The track is set to appear on their forthcoming mini-album – Cordi Elba due for a release in early January via Chugg Music and 7Wallace Music.
