New York-born, Japanese-Puerto Rican R&B singer Mai-Anna releases her
new single ‘Jupiter’. Raised in Queens, the 22-year-old songstress uses music to journey through relatable life experiences and themes of self-worth, sexuality, and the highs of lows of relationships. Drawing from a varied palette, her inspirations range from icons such as Queen, Lauryn Hill, and
Erykah Badu to modern-day stars including, Jazmine Sullivan and Kehlani.

‘Jupiter’ has heartbreak at its core and highlights Mai-Anna’s sensual vocals across a dreamlike, futuristic production courtesy of Devin “sawcy_boy” England and keys added by Solomon Fox. The producer – whom she met whilst living in Brooklyn – provides the perfect backdrop for Mai-Anna to shed light on the trials and tribulations of love.

Mai-Anna started songwriting in the summer of 2019, and she attended a writing camp in New York where she met various songwriters and producers that have remained influential throughout her musical journey. Currently, she is in her final months of studying Psychology and Education at Harvard University and she hopes to continue to help via education and teach and develop young minds. During her studies, Mai-Anna also started a collective on campus with her friends to support her queer community and promote inclusion, creating a space for people to express themselves through a shared love of music and the arts.

With a sound that spans multiple genres, including Pop, R&B, and Neo Soul, Mai-Anna is a multi-instrumentalist who has caught the attention of fans online by recording beautiful covers from her bedroom. She is now ready to share her own songs with the world and has created an authentic and distinctive sound, using her upbringing and influences to pen meaningful lyrics. With plans to move to London in January, Mai-Anna is already making strides within the R&B scene in the UK, recently supporting Odeal at his headline show at Jazz Cafe. ‘Jupiter’ is a triumph for the rising singer-songwriter who is sitting on an abundance of new music that she is excited to share with the world.
