Danish, London based singer and producer Marie Dahlstrom has enlisted MiC LOWRY’s Delleile Ankrah for a new single “Clouds” – the first new music to be heard since her 2021 EP ‘Safe Place’.

The new single opens a new chapter for Marie Dahlstrom as she prepares to follow up her highly acclaimed 2020 debut album ‘Like Sand’.

New single “Clouds” was produced by Marie’s frequent collaborator Dan Diggas (Mahalia, Central Cee, M Huncho), and features the vocals of Delleile Ankrah, standing as his first solo feature.

Widely known for her irresistible R&B-flecked neo soul, new single “Clouds” bursts with positive affirmations: “I keep telling myself  / every day I wake up in the morning – I got it”, as Marie and Delleile share verses across the track before uniting on its soaring chorus. Showcasing their respective transfixing vocal prowess, the pair muse on losing yourself – but taking the necessary steps to change things and move forward.

Of the new track, Delleile and Marie discussed its origins and lyrical inspiration:

Delleile“This song is about when you’ve lost your path in life and you find it again. You get on the right path and you know you’re doing the right thing, the energy is good. That instinct and natural feeling. This song is crazy to me. Marie repping with the craziest vocals. So excited for this to come out and for everyone to hear her new album…”

Marie“Yes, it’s about feeling lost, but taking 5 mins to get back on your feet and overcome whatever is in front of you. To face the fear or obstacle. It’s about moving forward. Working with Delleile on this, was so natural and honest. It was an evening during the last part of the pandemic, and everything just came together so smooth and organically, with Dan Diggas on the production. We were all in the same room just catching that moment of creativity, and a few hours later, Clouds was basically what you hear on the record.”

Consistently proving she is one of the most essential voices in contemporary R&B, Marie Dahlstrom is supported and praised widely at press by the likes of Billboard, NPR, The Line Of Best Fit, NYLON, Complex,Wonderland Magazine and more, as well as being listed as a ‘Sleeper Pick’ by Joe Budden (twice) on TheJoe Budden Podcast (the most influential podcast in R&B and hip-hop globally). Marie Dahlstrom has also received substantial radio airplay from BBC 1Xtra DJ’s Jamz Supernova, DJ Target, Toddla T and Rinse FM’s Jyoty.
