British alt-pop artist Michael Aldag makes a striking return with his new EP, Crying in the Club, a vibrant and emotionally charged collection of synth-pop tracks that delve into love, heartbreak, and fleeting human connection. Co-written and produced with acclaimed Swedish songwriter and producer Robin Stjernberg, the EP captures the ache of a breakup that still lingers, each song unfolding like a late-night confession on the dance floor.

Lead single “3minutes” sets the tone, a hauntingly intimate yet rhythmically driven track that fuses Aldag’s signature lyrical honesty with lush, 80s-inspired production. Opening with delicate synths and a pulsing bassline, it places his vocals in sharp relief, drawing listeners into a story of missed chances and unspoken emotion. The track builds toward an explosive chorus layered with soaring harmonies and atmospheric textures, evoking both nostalgia and urgency.

‘3minutes’ is a reference to the length of a song that prevented me from reaching my ex-girlfriend on a club dance floor. Nothing else,” Aldag explains, underscoring the personal immediacy at the heart of the song.

Beyond the lead single, Crying in the Club features standouts like “Happy” and “Saturday,”. Together, the tracks form a cohesive, cathartic body of work, a soundtrack for late-night reflection, heartbreak, and emotional release.

Aldag describes the project with his trademark wit: “‘Crying in the Club’ is an EP that will likely change the course of music history forever. I’m excited to see the seismic reaction to yet another 5-track project about someone’s ex-girlfriend. People have called it ‘visionary’, others have called it ‘profound and brave’: I just call it ‘mine’.”
