Michael Aldag Returns with New Single “Saturday”
8 Sep 2025
Michael Aldag continues his rise as one of the UK’s most candid new voices with the release of his latest single Saturday, out 28 August via Neubau Music Recordings. A sharp, emotionally charged slice of synth-pop, the track captures the spiral of relapse, regret, and the late-night temptation to reach out to someone you swore you had left behind. The new release marks the penultimate release from Aldag’s upcoming EP and is already generating buzz, fuelled by a viral TikTok in which he pokes fun at his ability to rewrite personal history through song. The clip has amassed hundreds of thousands of views, further heightening anticipation for the track.
Opening with ascending, semi-distorted synths, Saturday quickly dissolves into Aldag’s dry and direct vocals. His delivery is honest and unsparing, anchored in lyrics such as “You have a residence in my mind” with painful precision. The chorus pares back percussion, leaving stabbing guitars and raw vocal intensity before the rhythm section crashes back in with renewed urgency.
Lyrically, the song is a brutally honest reflection on the tug-of-war between detachment and desire. “No contact / Fuck that – I’m in your bed by the Saturday,” Aldag admits, summing up the messy truth of giving in. With its layered production, sudden drops, and surging peaks, Saturday balances fragility with ferocity, cementing Aldag’s reputation for turning late-night heartbreak into something bold, loud, and piercingly relatable.
The release follows a year of standout festival appearances and a rapidly growing online presence, with Aldag now boasting more than one million followers on TikTok. It is another confident step in his catalogue, blending sharp pop instincts with raw emotional confessions.
Saturday arrives ahead of a UK headline tour this autumn, with dates including Brighton, London, Sheffield, Glasgow, Newcastle, Leeds, and Hull.
