Ms Banks Unveils ‘South LDN Lover Girl’ Single
16 Feb 2026
Ms Banks gives us her perspective both on crime, addiction, and much more with her new single ‘SOUTH LDN LOVER GIRL’. The track depicts a narrative that takes you on a journey through romance and then the complete juxtaposition of that – domestic violence. This is a topic as a society we don’t wish to talk much about but it’s important to give a voice to the voiceless, where those people end up giving the best parts of themselves to people who have no business receiving them.
You can imagine this single turning into a mini film, the way she tells the story word for word makes you want to put down what you’re doing and really listen in. The chorus compliments the track beautifully with lyrics relatable to many.
“I, I know you been having your days
And I, I know that you want him to stay
And I, I know things ain’t going your way
But no, don’t go astray, no no, don’t go astray”
You can tell that Ms Banks loves music as much as she loves telling stories that really need to be told. Shedding light on perspectives that tend to get overlooked, or the candle burns out before that perspective gets the opportunity for light.
Ms Banks says:
“You never really see the words South London and lover girl put together, unfortunately us girls from South have a bad rep. My environment may have a part to play as to why I am so hard and so stern but deep down inside, there is a girl that wants to love and be loved. This is definitely the most vulnerable I’ve ever been on a project and just being honest about how life feels from my perspective, some past, some present.”
The entire project is set for release on March 13th.
