M’Way Drops “With Ease” Freestyle + Music Video
11 Aug 2022
Nottingham’s M’Way is back and sliding on the beat “With Ease” as he returns to the rap game for his first freestyle of 2022. The rapper has unleashed his third release under Tiffany Calver’s No Requests imprint, arriving with a revved-up visual to amplify the tracks’ rapid cadence. Drifting ferociously
against a stark London backdrop, M’Way performs to the camera with a clear comfortability, as he raps coolly about juggling a trapper lifestyle in tandem with his rising popularity. The music video, directed by Kirx Diaz, is a promising indication of the high-speed nature of M’Way’s progression over the course of the past year alone, as he both sonically and visually signals an increasingly mature creative proficiency.
Born into a household of hip-hop and R&B, it was normal for M’Way to hear New York legends such as Nas, Dipset and Styles P blasting from his dad’s speakers, but as he got older, his ear transported him to the American South, to artists such as the late great Young Dolph, Gucci Mane and, closer to home, London rapper Nines. These early exchanges motivated his decision to pick up the pen himself. “I’ve always been able to rap, I just never did,” he says. Drawn to the rumbling bass of trap from a young age, M’Way has taken the sound in his stride as he has made a splash on the scene.
Now, with his momentum in place, M’Way’s vision is sky high. With plans to drop several new singles and a project this year, the young MC is planting seeds that will ultimately bear abundant fruit. Watch this space. “I’m trying to keep it consistent and keep my music authentic,” he says. “I’m thinking big. I want to
start my own label and put the young g’s on, I want to learn how to make beats, I want the whole thing. I don’t think I’m the best yet but when all is said and done, I want people to know that I brought the trap wave to the UK, whether you want to call it a new genre or not. I was that guy.”
