Who are you and where are you from?
My name is Mboogz and I’m from a small town on the outskirts of Bristol (Trowbridge).
‘Missing You’ is somewhat of a viral sensation. Has this increased your motivation to create or has the hunger always been the same?
Missing You has increased my motive to create music as it was my debut song and also established me as musician to this game, from there I’ve been around the right people and management to take me further as an artist.
Are there any standout musical influences that your sound has taken information from?
To be honest there aren’t any musical influences that helped me with my sound, I listen to lots of different artists and different genres, so I’ve never really felt attached or looked up to one particular artist.
How has creating music shaped your life to date?
Creating music has changed my life completely this time last year I wasn’t making any music and now it’s my career – it consumes a lot of commitment and time also so yeah it has made a significant change to my life.
How important is authenticity and originality to you?
Authenticity and originality means a lot to me, creating new sounds and doing my own thing is what I stick to doing, I like being different with it so I value creativity highly.
What’s the main goal / big dream for you over the next few years?
My main goal with music is to be the greatest at what I’m doing and show my life through music.
