nineteen97 and Murkage Dave have come together to deliver a spacey new track, ‘ALIVE’, expertly fusing the genres of Grime, Garage and R&B. The Birmingham based rapper and producer has called upon the East London legend to complement his brand of honest bars with a smooth vocal performance.

The new track comes off the back of 97’s last release, ‘WEATHERMAN’, which caught the attention of 1Xtra DJ’s Tiffany Calver and Sir Spyro. Produced by frequent collaborator OffKey, nineteen97 has always been sonically distinctive when it comes to instrumentals, and ‘ALIVE’ is certainly no different as the minimalist drums and warped bass give a perfect jumping off point for the two artists.

Accompanied by a smart monochromatic visual, both artists demonstrate their innate ability for storytelling and manage to elevate each other as the track progresses. With a UK tour on the way for nineteen97, the artist continues to show that he is one of the most exciting talents in Birmingham and could well be an artist heading for the very top in the near future.
