Obongjayar returns to share his new single, “Jellyfish,” the latest offering from his forthcoming second album PARADISE NOW, which is set for release on May 30th via September Recordings.

Co-produced by Carlos O’Connell (Fontaines D.C.) and Kwes Darko (Pa Salieu, John Glacier), “Jellyfish” sees Obongjayar ramp up the energy on a raw, synth-punk track aimed squarely at the ruling class. Blending elements of his Nigerian heritage with frantic, rave-ready percussion, it’s a bold political statement.

In an interview with The Observer, he explained the track channels his frustration with power and corruption: “Seeing how governments move, people in power, corporations for whatever monetary reasons you sell yourself.”

Created between studios in London and LA alongside producers like Yeti Beats (Doja Cat) and Beach Noise (Kendrick Lamar, Baby Keem), Obongjayar’s forthcoming album promises a vivid journey through themes of self-acceptance, grief, loneliness, and late-night euphoria. It’s a testament to his genre-defying style and vocal range, with the only feature coming from long-time collaborator Little Simz on “Talk Olympics”, following their recent link-up on her single “Flood.”
