South London singer-songwriter producer, and multi-instrumentalist Samm Henshaw has released his second full-length album, “It Could Be Worse”. The 11-track record is a deeply vulnerable, richly layered body of work that chronicles heartbreak, healing, and the clarity that comes from growth.
Putting a contemporary edge on classic soul, Samm Henshaw has built a reputation for wearing his heart on his sleeve. His music moves with natural peaks and valleys, intimate and introspective one moment, bold and cathartic the next fusing soul, alternative, indie, R&B, and funk into a sound that feels timeless yet unmistakably his own.
On It Could Be Worse, that emotional range hits new depths. “Thematically, it’s what you experience on the other side of grief,” Samm explains. “There’s more vulnerability and growth. I’m singing how I would naturally speak — it’s a more mature approach.” For the first time, he recorded an entire project alongside live musicians, a choice that brings added warmth, texture, and spontaneity to the album.
