Rising artist SamRecks has come through with his latest single ‘SUMO’, accompanied by a vintage visual shot by BlueBoredom. This also comes with the news that the London rapper will be releasing his debut EP, ‘Easier Said Than Done’, on the 8th of May.

Born in Nigeria but raised in south London, SamRecks has already had a strong start to the calendar year. His previous releases, ‘Love And Attention’ and ‘BACK PACK’, have tapped in to a 00’s nostalgia whilst showing off the talents of the artist in an Alternative Rap space.

‘SUMO’ sees SamRecks at his very best, gliding through a smooth instrumental with a variety of flows and strong bars throughout. He also had a hand in production alongside frequent collaborators XO The Plug and Posh Teddy, demonstrating the artist’s musicality. With an EP on the way and the Alternative UK Rap sound on the rise in the mainstream, SamRecks is in a strong position to be a figurehead of his genre, and has found a winning formula by tapping into past eras for inspiration.
