UK rap icon Skepta, KITSCHKRIEG, and Blumengarten have joined forces on the remix of their summer-soundtrack ‘Gut Genug‘. The infectious hook has taken over in recent weeks, earning fans from Wiz Khalifa and Heidi Klum to Lizzo and Steve Lacey.
Alongside this, Skep has also stated that his highly anticipated album, ‘Knife and Fork’, is on the way. This will be his first solo project since 2019’s ‘Ignorance is Bliss’.
Speaking on the single, Skepta states:
“Anybody close to me knows how important melody is to me and I knew that the melodies on Gut Genug must have already saved & changed lives across the world so it was an honour to add a rap verse. The task I had was not to interfere with what was already a hit but to write a verse that makes it an even more liberating listen for those who need it.
I studied German at school so I knew what the words meant, the lyrics took me back to my Underdog Psychosis video, feeling like you can’t be someone and like you’re not good enough. I’ve been watching the U.P video a lot now whilst I’m working on my album #ForkAndKnife so it was perfect timing.”
