South London Native Swindle Lands With His Reflectional Album, ‘The New World’
30 Oct 2021
Earlier this month South London native, Swindle, linked up with Maverick Sabre and Joel Culpepper for the delivery of their acoustic-driven creation NO BLACK, NO IRISH, undoubtedly building anticipation for the unveiling of his new album, which has finally landed; THE NEW WORLD.
The project features an all-star line up which includes Knucks, Ghetts, Akala, Kojey Radical, Loyale Carner, Greentea Peng and more. Across the nine tracks that make up THE NEW WORLD, important themes are placed at the centre of focus; making for a body of work built on Hip-Hop, Soulful and Jazz-Esque sounds that are perfect for introspective listeners.
Speaking on the release of this highly reflectional project, Swindle commented “THE NEW WORLD was recorded during a very strange time in 2020 just after being locked down. I sent a text to my favourite artists, collaborators and friends saying ‘let’s have a musical retreat, reconnect and figure out how we are going to enter the new world’.When I got back and listened to the music that we made, I decided to put it together as a body of work. We were going through isolation, difficult conversations around race and racism and it was made with a real pure intention. A soundtrack to our healing. It’s a very unique album to me, an album that happened to us. I hope you enjoy it.”
