Tamera Delivers Highly Awaited Debut EP ‘Afrodite’
18 Nov 2021
Kent’s rising songstress Tamera has unveiled her highly awaited debut EP named, ‘Afrodite’.
Following on from her sold-out show, Tamera has graced supporters with the release of her debut EP, ‘Afrodite’; an exploration of love and life, as she pays homage to both her Greek and African heritage. Enriched with her butter-like tone and enchanting melodies, the EP is accompanied alongside a set of captivating visuals for stand-out single, ‘Good Love’ alongside Tay Iwar.
Directed by Helena Coan, the ‘Good Love’ visuals journey’s the listener back to the early 00s, through intertwining elements of pop video aesthetics and a vintage feel in one seamless yet sensual framework. Continuing to pay homage to her Greek roots through various props, Tamera solidifies herself as a force to be reckoned with.
Speaking on the EP Tamera commented, “Afrodite stems from the word “Aphrodite” who is the Goddess of love, beauty, pleasure and passion in Greek mythology. It’s such a fitting title as my project was born from passion, love and female/goddess energy it’s also a subtle nod to my Greek heritage. I used the spelling “Afrodite” instead of the original spelling because I’m also an African woman and predominant sonics of the project are heavily influenced by African culture. The mix of the two create a perfect blend of passion, vulnerability, fearlessness, sass, brutal honesty and vim.”
