The Rise Of Billy Billions: A Deeper Dive Into The Journey Towards ‘Me Vs Me’ EP
11 Mar 2022
Hailing from Holly Street, Hackney – multi-faceted talent Billy Billions unveils six track EP ‘Me Vs Me’. Not new to this music game, Billy has been dropping music for many years now standing out for his renowned ability to combine melodic singing with drill infused rap. Recently being released from jail, ‘Me Vs Me’ represents Billy’s double life of having to balance facing the system with maintaining a career in music. As one of the next generations potential star’s Billy is more determined than ever to take control and release his music out to the world.
Releasing a Pacman TV production for “Trap Phone” as early as 2015, Billy Billions showcased his unique cadence from early on. Following on from this, Billy dropped freestyles on ‘HOTSPOT’ as well as successful hits such as “Idris Elba” and “Kitchen“. In 2020 Holly Street and Homerton artists came together becoming the collective known as ’98s’, consequently being more consistent in making music with Unknown T, KO, V9, Mazza, Jimmy, Alchubbino, Stally, Hitman and DA. This step in their careers produced highly approved 98s mixtape ‘Class Of 98s’ reintroducing themselves as a group of rising stars with hard-hitting established sounds. Billy Billions’ ability to stand out has always been recognised due to his distinctive talents, leading to further solo release “Tizzy” to drop, which was undeniably one of the best drill tracks to drop in 2021.
Kicking off 2022, Billy Billions has already unleashed cutting-edge visuals to “Blessing The Beef” (prod by Honeywoodsix) and “Natural Badness” (prod by Tefo and Mason) – two tracks on the tape alongside “Tizzy” (prod by Morts). Track 5 “Murder On My Brain” shines on Billy’s talent without a doubt as he incorporates alternative styles of delivery throughout. Flowing between rap and melodic vocals, Billy effortlessly layers the track with creative components, accompanying the song with a menacing production by Serafino producers AV and bbcashy. This track has similar characteristics to other songs on the project, which all work well as it is true to Billy’s sound and represents the music he continues to push out. “Wish Me Well” (prod by T Milly) is the only track which slightly differs from the main tone of the project, tapping in to a more emotional, ‘in touch’ side of Billy’s artistry and talents in lyricism. The only feature on the tape is with 98s rapper KO on “Copping Hammers” (prod by SoundToYourMind and Fumes), giving audiences a perfect pairing with Billy’s compelling vocals fused with KO’s lyrical wordplay and engaging clarity.
Billy’s potential to progress into a well developed, notable star is nothing less than possible! His talents are seen and this is only the start so tap in to his journey now and see his career take off!
