Following the success of debut single “Cigarette Stories” which has harvested support from BBC Radio 1 and 6, Fresh on the Net and Gemma Bradley, Manchester based rapper – producer duo Fieves have come through to bless us with emotionally driven new joint “Roots To Trees”.

An electronic infused rap production courtesy of multi genre artist Yves Jones, provides the perfect under layer for Manchester / Kent based “raproducineer” Finnerz to showcase his deep and relaxing tone – a combination that is proving to go hand in hand so well.

Intricate lyricism surrounding the feeling of moving away from home to start a new life and the importance of people before and throughout that transition is what Finnerz describes as “the journey from roots to trees”.

After showcasing some of their new music at The Deaf Insitute in Manchester earlier this week, it is no wonder Fieves have grown the audience tenfold over the past month and a half. A sound similar to that of Frankie Stew and Harvey Gunn in my eyes is what the UK needs more of. However, Fieves are creating a whole new genre for themselves, and this style of music is what the industry needs.

This is a duo that I am extremely excited for – if you don’t know, get them on your radar.
