Venna Shows Off Vocals On ‘My Way’
7 May 2025
South London artist and saxophonist Venna has unveiled his latest single, ‘My Way’. While he is mainly known for his instrumental prowess, the new single showcases the artist’s vocal ability too, and is accompanied by a music video directed by Yen Espinoza.
Following on from his recent single, ‘Prophet’, these last two singles signal a new chapter in Venna‘s career. His last project, ‘Equinox’, were demonstrative of his innate musicality, while his work with Burna Boy on 2020’s ‘Twice as Tall’ won him a Grammy.
Speaking on the new track, Venna states:
“My Way was the last record made for the album. A record that came to me in the moments where I thought i was finished. It’s testament to never stop searching even when you feel like you’ve found everything you were looking for. My Way is an uncomfortable record for me as it’s really the first time i’m outwardly singing as a lead and not as an accessory to the music.
I came across a producer named Will Commodo last summer and he had the instrumental on his instagram. I dm’d a while later and when we met – My Way was the only instrumental i wanted to hear. I wrote to it in the initial moments of hearing it and the rest is history. I sat with the record for a few months afterwards, adding subtle production changes and calling my trusted friends to help me with elements i felt like was missing.”
