Yazmin Lacey is back, delivering a heartwarming new single, ‘The Feels,’ available now via AMF Records—home to acclaimed artists like Olivia Dean and Greentea Peng. The track blends ethereal vocals with an irresistible fusion of funk and disco, bringing much-needed warmth to the colder months. Accompanying the release is a feel-good music video directed by Kevin Morosky, featuring Yazmin and her friends, radiating joy and connection.

This marks Yazmin’s first solo release in 18 months, following a whirlwind summer highlighted by her feature on Ezra Collective’s hit single ‘God Gave Me Feet For Dancing.’ The collaboration earned her a debut on Strictly Come Dancing, showcasing her talents to a wider audience. ‘The Feels’ also builds on the success of her 2023 album Voice Notes, a critically acclaimed project that solidified Yazmin’s place in contemporary music.

Discussing her new single, Yazmin describes it as more about evoking a mood than conveying a specific message. “The song taps into that irresistible urge to lose yourself in a vibe—whether it’s with someone you’re drawn to, out with friends, or even alone in your own thoughts. It captures the pursuit of that addictive, carefree state but also hints at how it can sometimes become overwhelming,” she explains. This essence of spontaneity and emotional authenticity is a hallmark of her artistry.

With a style rooted in her East London upbringing and Caribbean heritage, Yazmin Lacey defies categorization. Her 2023 debut album, Voice Notes, continued her signature intimate storytelling first showcased in earlier EPs like Black Moon (2017) and Morning Matters (2020). Known for embracing imperfection, her music blends influences and celebrates raw emotion, capturing unfiltered moments much like the voice memos she uses to craft melodies. Already celebrated by critics and fans alike, Yazmin’s latest single ‘The Feels’ is poised to reaffirm her place as one of the UK’s most compelling voices.
